After School Clubs
Our ethos on extra-curricular provision at St George’s C of E is simply that we try to provide as many opportunities for as many of our pupils as possible, so that they can extend their experiences. We are also trying to widen these opportunities to families and the community, through our new Sports and Arts Hall.
We also aim to provide opportunities for competitive fixtures. At present the sports included in after school activities are: football, netball, rugby, cricket, rounders, hockey, keep fit/dance and bat and ball skills for KS1.
Outside Funding to add to our Study Support provides opportunities for input from sports coaches and use of other sports facilities to further extend the children’s opportunities, including Kwik Cricket training and Tag-Rugby, Netball, Rounders, Dance, Basketball, Squash, Orienteering, Stay and Play, Reading Club, Choir, Y6 Study Support, Gardening Club, Crafts, Needlework, Pyramid Club and Bike Maintenance.
We are involved in the Cumbria School Sport Co-ordinator programme through which sporting links are being made with Alfred Barrow as our link secondary school and also with community sports programmes, making children aware of the various sporting opportunities available to them outside of school.
