Teaching Assistant and Senior Teaching Assistant Vacancy for Spring Term 2010.
We are looking for two temporary staff to cover maternity leave. The classes to be supported would be Year 1 and Nursery, starting towards the end of January and February respectively. We are looking for staff who are flexible, creative and persistent. The Nursery post requires Early Years experience.
A sense of humour is essential and a clear focus on the children to help them improve in all areas of their lives is paramount. We need you to have integrity and professionalism and strong values; delivered in a firm but calm manner.
St George’s is a very transparent environment, where the staff openly supports each other, shares ideas and drives the school forward. We encourage networking within and out of school; staff development is a high priority.
We had our last OFSTEDs in December 2007, we would recommend that you read both of them. The church OFSTED, carried out to the same standards do not have to consider government floor targets for SATs and so could judge us as outstanding. Being a church school is very significant to our work and sympathy with the Christian faith is essential.
Our children need someone with unending patience, a desire to see and know them as individuals, to spot their talents and work with them to help them grow educationally and spiritually. They need staff who are firm but fun and who can motivate them to learn, through the use of varied teaching styles.
Working at St George’s is highly demanding but immensely rewarding.
